How It Works: Tailoring the Experience
You'll find these powerful options where you manage student and class settings—either within an individual student's profile for highly personalized adjustments or when adjusting settings for an entire class to apply broad support.
Once you navigate to the Accessibility tab in either student or class settings, you'll discover a range of customizable options:
-
Learning & Cognitive Support: Easily enable a dyslexia-friendly font designed for improved readability and fewer letter mix-ups, helping students with specific learning differences.
-
Vision-Focused Tools: Assist students with visual impairments by activating a high-contrast theme for clearer visibility or enabling dictation functionality that reads on-screen content aloud.
-
Hearing Accommodations: Ensure all students can follow along by turning on closed captions for videos and adding typing sounds that provide auditory feedback for keypresses.
-
Physical Input Adjustments: For students with mobility limitations, you can configure the keyboard to support right-hand or left-hand typing only, adjusting the instructions to teach all keys using just one hand.
The best part? Any accessibility settings you apply at the individual student level will intelligently override class-wide settings, giving you the precise control needed for individualized education plans. Just remember to save your changes, and active students will see the updates after they log out and back in!
Key Benefits of Accessibility Options:
-
Personalized Support, Simplified: Easily adapt the learning environment to match diverse needs, making differentiation effortless.
-
Enhanced Engagement & Confidence: When students' specific requirements are met, they can focus on mastering typing skills, leading to greater engagement and a boost in self-confidence.
-
Flexible Control: Manage settings at both the class and individual student level, providing the flexibility your unique classroom requires.
