Moving to Typing.com from EduTyping: Everything You Need to Know
As Teaching.com consolidates its typing education platforms, we're requiring all EduTyping users to migrate to Typing.com. If you'd like to keep the exact same Home Row curriculum you're used to, we've got you covered! Your familiar EduTyping experience is available exclusively for you within Typing.com, alongside our enhanced grade-based curriculum.
Let's walk through everything you need to know, step by step.
1 Key Steps for Migration
- If your school uses Clever or ClassLink, you must set up a new integration for Typing.com. Schoology and Google Classroom are also available as integration options.
- If managing student accounts manually (Google SSO or Username/Password), you'll need to create new classes and add students from scratch in Typing.com. You can import a list of students to speed up the process.
- Your assigned Account Manager will support you throughout the migration.

As Teaching.com moves all users to our flagship platform, you'll get everything you love about EduTyping, as well as:

- Same Pricing – Your annual cost remains unchanged unless your previous payment was below the standard rate.
- More Flexibility – Use either the EduTyping-style curriculum or the enhanced Typing.com grade-based curriculum—or both!
3 Important Data Retention Info
Student data does NOT transfer
- Unfortunately, student progress will not migrate from EduTyping to Typing.com.
- Students will start fresh when logging into Typing.com.
Student accounts do NOT transfer automatically
- Students will need to be added to Typing.com manually or via Clever/Schoology/ClassLink integration.
- Transitional Access: Once you begin using Typing.com, you'll receive one year of free access to your existing EduTyping accounts (ending no later than December 31, 2026) to help facilitate a smooth transition for your students
4 Best Time to Transition
We recommend transitioning over summer
- This minimizes disruptions and gives teachers time to get comfortable with the new platform.
- Mid-year migrations are possible but require extra preparation.
- Remember, all EduTyping users must transition to Typing.com by December 31, 2026.
5 A More Modern & Updated Experience
- EduTyping is an outdated version of Teaching.com's Typing.com with some differences in content.
- Typing.com is continuously updated, offering a better-designed teacher portal and improved features.
- The EduTyping curriculum is still available to you, but you also get access to our enhanced grade-based curriculum if you choose.
- Typing.com offers lessons beyond touch typing and aligns with multiple state standards as well as ISTE.
- Typing.com PLUS includes:
- Creative Writing
- Content in both Spanish and Portuguese
- Test Prep Unit
- Coding Unit
- Custom Lessons to align with classroom instruction
6 Your Access to EduTyping
EduTyping remains available until your license expires, but migration is required
- If you renew EduTyping one last time, you may do so as long as the expiration date is before December 31, 2026.
- December 31, 2026, is the final date when users can log into EduTyping, and all customers must have migrated to Typing.com by this date.
