Keyboard Typing

Keyboard typing has improved over the years with the lastest technology, making typing much more effienct and safer for the user. It has been found that keyboard typing has caused cumulative trauma disorders which is caused by the increased repetitive motions and awkward postures attributed by the use of computer keyboards. Because of injuries and lawsuits in relation to keyboards, there have been a wide variety of alternative keyboard designs to reduce the physical demands on the body, improve posture during use, and overall comfort. Many typists are well-skilled with the Qwerty key arrangement and there have been keyboards redesigned to keep the Qwerty key arrangement, but improving the hand and arm postures. Another keyboard typing key arrangement is the Dvorak. The alphabetic keys are in a layout that more evenly distributes typing among the fingers of both hands. Because of the stategic placement of the letters and punctuation, Dvorak typists are able to attain the same output with reduced finger movement, which results in less strain on the hands, wrists, and arms. If you plan or are doing a lot of keyboard typing, it may be worth you while to look into the wide variety of different keyboards.
